It goes without saying that the most important thing in translating literary works and films is the accurate translation of each and every part, and another condition is to be able to grasp the complete picture of what is being translated.

The importance of the overall picture also applies to learning. It is good to always keep in mind how the lecture you are taking fits into the overall scheme of the course, or how the topic you are currently studying fits into the overall topic or structure of the course.

Major 2 : Major in Business & Management Translation

This course is designed for people who work for international corporations or overseas organizations and companies, as well as those students who hope to work for such companies.The curriculum content covers all aspects of business management.

Students will learn information, technical knowledge, and improve their English regarding business management by writing English reports and doing English>Japanese and Japanese>English translations.

The texts are specialized materials which deal with business management. Translation is a highly effective methodology for learning languages, and students will raise their skill level by reading the original text carefully and then expressing what is written, be able to measure the degree of achievement of set goals,

and simultaneously raise their bilingual language proficiency in both Japanese and English in their field of specialty.

Major 3: Major in Technical and Scientific Translation

First, it is very important to clarify the student’s translation philosophy and learning attitude. Even in translation work in technical majors, we strive to meet the standard 3 Cs of writing, which are conciseness, clarity, and correctness.

It is extremely important not to distort the contents of the original document. One key point in technical majors is to control the subconscious urge to showing off the skill. The most important point is to suppress any excessive individual self-confidence, and to write accurate, concise, and clear sentences.

Major 4: Major in International Paralegal Translation

This course is set up so that students can acquire an ability to write contracts and legal documents smoothly in both Japanese and English. Study will center primarily on drafting business agreements in English and Japanese and translating legal instruments and verious documents in the field of law from Engslish and Japanese and vice versa.

The students we aim to attract are people who work in legal offices and corporate legal departments, or who wish to work there. After gaining knowledge and skills concentrated on legal English, students can possess a stable specialty.

This course is suitable preparation for students who are considering studying at an overseas law school or paralegal school.
