 インターネット通信受講で米国の翻訳修士号（Master of Science in Translation）を取得する2年生の修士課程です。以下の4つの専攻があります。
各専攻とも、科学的に翻訳技法を学ぶ「基礎科目・基礎演習科目」、それぞれの専門性を明確にしてより深い翻訳技術を演習する「ジャンル別演習科目」、実際の出版、字幕作成に携わる「Workshop」、「修士論文または翻訳修了作品」などが基本的なカリキュラムですが、プロフェッショナル、自立に必要な種々の技術を習得する選択講座があります。
所定の単位を履修し、修士論文または修了作品に合格した方に、修士号(MST)が授与されます。

・「単位認定制度」は2008年3月入学者より適用されます。

 私が翻訳に興味を持つようになったのは、仕事での経験がきっかけでした。米国本社やアジア各国との業務で翻訳を行う必要があったのですが、自分自身とても効率が悪いと感じていました。そんな時、バベルユニバーシティに翻訳修士課程があることを知り、さらにこのコースに対し社団法人日本翻訳協会が翻訳修士奨学生を募集していることを知りました。
大変光栄にも、現在はこの社団法人日本翻訳協会の翻訳修士奨学生として、バベルユニバーシティにて翻訳を学んでいます。翻訳という技術は大変奥深く習得にはそれなりの時間がかかりますが、しっかりと身につければこれからのグローバル社会において貴重なスキルになるであろうと考えています。
