イメージ画像 The Working Scholarship is awarded to applicants for study at Babel University Professional School of Translation (PST). Recipients receive a reduction in school fees and may be granted course credit, according to the quality of their work.

Babel University Professional School of Translation (PST) is an online graduate school based in the U.S. It is a working university, devoted to the principle of "Practical Education." In practice, this means that while Working Scholarship students are pursuing their studies, they are also gaining experience in professional translation work.

My goal after I graduated and got my MST was getting translation jobs continuously. I got several contracts with translation companies quickly so I was able to make my goal in one year.
Last month, I got a job with massive translations so I picked up several PST students and graduated students to make a team to do that job. After that six of them started working as Japanese/English translators at the translation company. (Read the complete article here.)

Exam fee: Free
Enrollment to begin: October 2010
Scholarship amounts:
A few each Major for US$ 3,000 awards
Majors
Major 1: Literary Arts and Film Translation
Major 2: Finance and IR Translation
Major 3: Technical and Scientific Translation
Major 4: International Paralegal Translation
Exam contents: Written test and telephone interview
Scholarship period:
Two years(may be extended up to four years)
*Recipients are not allowed to receive any additional scholarships.

Scholarship recipient responsibilities*
1. Create and update brog&webpages
2. Produce translations (excluding highly technical material)
3. Create documents (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
4. Research and reporting
*To be scheduled at the student’s convenience
